I have various cases that I like to roll, so I needed additional metal plates for my car mount. Didn't want to go with the regular gray ones as I attach them to the outside of the case so they don't scratch the glass back of the phone. They complement my suitcases well and are not as noticeable as the gray ones. The surface of the slabs has a grainy texture instead of being completely smooth, which is uncomfortable to the touch at times, but not enough to make them non-useable. I use the car mount every day and not once has my phone dropped. Each panel has a hole and I'm not sure what it's for. However, the sticker on the back covers it so it sticks when I touch that part. But overall a very happy customer.
