I was very excited about this project as it could be used to record podcasts on your desk like Blue Snowball via USB or for use in the field as a standalone recorder for Interviews can be used or over a tripod. What a disappointment. I'm a bit embarrassed because I'm the guy everyone calls to help them solve problems like this. I teach hardware troubleshooting courses at A+ level and have worked as a level 2 helpdesk in a helpdesk for 10 years. However, I can't get the thing to work on my PC. This device cannot be connected and configured in Windows at all. This appears to be an issue with the newly introduced USB interface, which is the main difference between this new "X" version and the old DR-05 version, which is available for $25 less. I've tried reinstalling the drivers using different USB cables and different USB ports. At one point I thought Audacity might be the problem as it was throwing -9999 and -9996 errors, so I downloaded and installed Wavepad and still no luck.
