Pros: This is a screw tightening mechanism that allows the ball joint to be tightened, which keeps the phone in place. Cons: The rubber material of the suction cup is of poor quality. Over time, it degrades and actually sticks to the windshield. This made the mount almost impossible to remove if needed, and once removed it would never properly adhere to the windshield again. Also, there was this residue from worn rubber on the windshield that I had to clean off with rubbing alcohol.
