Between a 3 and 4, but this cover is unique and satisfied the number one thing that I hate about covers, so I give the 4.The material is very pliable. I'm not calling it thin, but it is definitely not what all the hundreds of other covers are made from. This is why I gave a 4. Because it is pliable, it doesn't get stuck and it more or less 'slips right on'. Other covers always tear in the back from the lid hinges which stick out. The cover always gets stuck on these and it is hard to put on (and take off.) This cover, the material is different and so that is not a problem.I've owned this just a month and a half. At first my husband said the color looked like dracula's cape. Shiny black, which I agree was a little weird. 6 weeks later it is not shiny anymore.but it also isn't black. It's faded. which, that isn't that high on my list of needs. The pliability is more important than the color.I am disappointed with the tightening at the bottom. It is basically pull-string, like a Columbia fleece at the bottom, when you pull the string and adjust the pull with the little plastic piece. The piece on both sides (left and right of the cover) never worked. so I can pull it, but it doesn't necessarily stay. We've had a couple of storms and a few gusty days and it hasn't flown off yet, but that was disappointing. Suppose I could have returned it for that reason. Good luck.
