Unfortunately, standard VDO sensors bump up before tightening.
Unfortunately, standard VDO sensors break through before they are even tightened, see image. This requires either a relief recess in the adapter or a thread with a slightly smaller diameter (NPT thread, i.e. somewhat narrower anyway).
