I tried this on every port on my PC but it never worked. It was recognized, but all attempts to connect a device to it did not lead to anything. I even tried plugging it into an external adapter and it still didn't work. Thinking it was a bad cable I sent it back for a new one. Turns out it just doesn't work as the second showed the same behavior as the first. I don't have a specific hardware configuration and have tried it on 3 different computers with different operating systems: Windows - B450 Aorus Pro Wifi MotherboardLinux - System 76 GazelleMac OS [Catalina] - Mid 2010 Macbook Pro.
