The board itself is well built. I also support the idea that you can "erase" the layers to get a new interface. However, it doesn't work as a simple cutting board, at least not with my technique. I mostly use a Chinese cleaver to chop food. Whenever I pushed the board a little, the center of the board deflected and stayed slightly concave. And this concavity causes non-flat surface. All the veggies I tried weren't cut all the way through, but left in the middle. The problem is that the support part (non-slip support) is only in the all-fourth corners and has no support in the middle.
