Review on 🐠 Maximize Efficiency with the MagTool MT-360P Optical Sensor ATO for Reef and Fresh Tanks by Kelly Kaliyan

Great for Nano Reef Tank

I installed this in my office IM AIO Fusion 40 gallon reef tank. I was tired of adding a jug of water every day and didn't want to spend a lot of money on an automatic refill system. This is a very simple, no-frills solution that works well, especially if you're short on tank space. The pump is tiny but easily pumps water from the cupboard under the tank to the back of the tank. Mounting hardware works well and holds the hose from the rear. Installation was easy and I had it up and running in about 10 minutes. I've had it up and running for a few weeks now and it's been working very well so far. I have a few criticisms. Unless you have a completely undulation-free area to mount an optical sensor disc, you'll have to fiddle with the sensor until you find a sweet spot. And if you need to move it after it's working, you'll have to unplug the sensor and then plug it back in - this acts as a sort of "reboot". A pause/feed timeout feature would be handy and could prevent this. The sensor itself has two small, sharp ridges on top of each other, separated by a low point/valley. When the water level in this slide is reached, the system switches off. When the water falls under this slide, it turns on again. It seems like the sensor needs to be placed so that those protrusions are vertical instead of horizontal. Depending on your cable routing, you may need to get creative so that the sensor cable doesn't force the sensor to rotate to a horizontal position. . Despite these minor issues I gave it 5 stars because I still think the manufacturer did a great job of keeping the system compact and easy to install.
