UPDATE. I have raised my rating from 1 star to 3. The grip is quirky and I've learned to adapt. Works well but still turns off a couple of times during use. I've tried adjusting the spring that holds the battery in place but to no avail. I was so excited to get this engraver so I could put my initials on some of the stained glass windows I made for friends. Unfortunately, the excitement was short-lived. . Turned it on and it stopped working before I even touched the glass. I shook it a little, nothing. I checked the batteries and they were fully charged. Plugged it back in, turned it on and it only worked for a few seconds. I wanted it to work so badly. I don't like writing bad reviews but I hope this will save others from wasting their money. Maybe I just got a lemon.
