Review on πŸ”§ Dorman 674-197 Driver's Side Exhaust Manifold Kit for Restricted Model Options by Brian Malith

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fits perfectly; Why continue to fight with a deformed collector?

Working on an old 1977 Chevy K20 350 V8 with a driver side exhaust manifold leak. After I removed the old original exhaust manifold, I found that it was so badly deformed that even with the exhaust manifold wrenches I could not align all of the manifold stud holes. After struggling with this for a long time, I decided to buy this Dorman driver's side exhaust manifold. It arrived today and has now been installed. Fits perfectly; All holes are perfectly aligned, making it easy to install the exhaust bolts. The finished surfaces are great for the price. It is equipped with threaded holes at the top of the flange for engines with California A, IR emissions systems and a threaded hole at the bottom flange of the exhaust manifold for engines with O2 sensors. Plugs are included to seal these unused ports on engines that don't need them (my engine didn't need them). Also included is a metal exhaust manifold gasket. I chose to use Permatex Copper RTV on the mounting surface instead of a spacer to ensure a consistent fit. Also included are 3 studs and nuts and lock washers for the lower flange area. Don't waste your time fighting with the union distributor. , get it and get the job done faster.
