This can work to loosen up tight muscles in the back and neck. However I do have issues with it. It's hard to position as it is a small device that is only fixed by a small strap. That strap isn't big enough to attach to any large backing so it can slide around. I had to wedge it against a TV pillow and lean back on it to keep it in place. And the heating elements do not get warm enough to be useful. Finally, I have doubts as to how long this will last, but to be fair it is very inexpensive and can work to loosen muscles, so I have no regrets in buying it.
