Unwaxed canvas. Questionable seam durability.

First off: These are good enough bags, but the canvas is absolutely not waxed canvas as the main reviewer claims. The canvas is tightly woven, so the bags must have some water resistance. Second, the bags I received were double stitched, but the stitches are 5 per inch (cheap) and the thread is pretty flimsy (cheap). Why does it matter? Because the more stitches per inch, the higher the strength of the seam. If you sew this far apart with thread that's too thin for the canvas, it's only a matter of time before the stiffness of the material and the weight of the contents wears through the upper thread. As soon as the upper thread breaks, the entire seam unravels. If you lose one of the two seam lines, the other won't last long. Third, the zippers are brass and of decent quality, but being brass they aren't as smooth as nylon zippers, especially at the beginning and end of the stroke. The use of silicone makes their work easier and prevents metal corrosion. I like bags enough to store them, but the stitches need to be tighter (at least 7 per inch) and the thread is thicker at this price point. I used to sew canvas tent walls to make a living, so I'm a bit adept at making canvas. I hope the manufacturer is listening.
