While I'm not sure what "transparency" or "thickness" means in the context of 6" x 9" speakers, I gave these speakers top marks, easy because they transformed it. my listening experience in my car. I drive a Mini Cooper S and have replaced the factory speakers with these Pioneer speakers. The improvement in sound quality is amazing! First, the tweeters in the five-way speakers ensure excellent high-frequency reproduction. Now the cymbals sparkle and sizzle as I listen to my favorite band, Little Tommy and the Blues Kings. At low levels, the bass is deep and full. It's not suitable for a separate subwoofer, but for the music I listen to, rock and roll, blues, gospel, jazz and R&B, it's excellent. Small midrange drivers fill the middle of the music with clarity and punch. Little Tommy has never sounded so good! I'm sure there are better car speakers in the world but for the money this is a fantastic deal. I don't know how long they will last as I only installed them 4 days ago but if they only lasted a year I would happily buy them again just for the sound quality they offer.
