I bought these shorts because I wanted quick drying shorts for travel and hiking and they quickly became my favourite. I wear them all the time, not just when hiking. I haven't thought of the Eddie Bauer brand in years, but I love these shorts and the pants that go with them. Kudos, Eddie Bauer - Dries quickly when traveling - Wash in the sink and they'll be dry in the morning - Light weight and not bulky in a suitcase - Very good pockets fit my phone well and the cargo pockets have good zips - Back pockets have velcro which I don't want , but everything holds securely - And there is enough freedom of movement when climbing uphill
