I bought these shorts because I wanted quick drying shorts for travel and hiking and they quickly became my favourite. I wear them all the time, not just when hiking. I haven't thought of the Eddie Bauer brand in years, but I love these shorts and the pants that go with them. Kudos, Eddie Bauer - Dries quickly when traveling - Wash in the sink and they'll be dry in the morning - Light weight and not bulky in a suitcase - Very good pockets fit my phone well and the cargo pockets have good zips -

From the start I loved these Eddie Bauer shorts. The large deep back pockets were great for carrying lots of random items and they had zips when needed to keep things from falling out. I could actually get things out of these bags while sitting or driving! They ALSO had four additional deep pockets. They stretch for comfort, they don't show dirt, and they were comfortable once I realized they were a bit big. I have ordered a second pair. Then I noticed that the stitching on the left back pocket

I'm 6ft 3" and 220lbs. These shorts sit a half inch or just above the knee. Pockets - and these shorts don't have them. Leg zips are a good alternative without adding bulk. The material is lightweight and feels durable. I use them day and night for singletrack mountain biking, hiking and walking. I like that I can use them for active sports and walks. They look good in both environments. Repels water and leaves no stains. Definitely worth its price.
