Review on Samsung DVD V9800 Tunerless Upconverting Player by Derick Carpenter

I bought this product to play VHS tapes and standard DVDs which we keep for children. What attracted me to this device was the Samsung brand, just like our LED TV, and the ability to connect it to a TV via HDMI. When I plugged it in, I couldn't play the tape. It turns out that VHS tapes can't be played via HDMI. They require the use of a standard set of analog cables. It's logical, but that fact is buried deep in the instructions (let alone the ads). When trying to play a DVD, I found that the DVD tray was defective and would not slide out, apparently due to a poor fit in the unit's design. Luckily, Revain seems to have a good returns policy, and that's exactly what it aims to do.
