Love this sharpener! I'm very picky about the length of the pencil tip, I like longer tips. This sharpener cuts your pencil at a very small angle, giving you a longer, narrower tip so you don't have to sharpen too often. It has two settings where you can change the point angle and length as you like. There are two step sharpeners on the market that you can use to do this, but this one is much easier with fewer steps. The only downside is that it doesn't come with instructions, so you'll have to play around with it to figure out what's what. Also, as a rule of thumb, with manual sharpeners, the portion of the sharpener that you pull back to hold the pencil in place (using rabbit ear pryers) will break off when the pencil is fully sharpened. However, this Sharpie doesn't; You have to listen, and when you stop hearing the sound of shaving, pull out the pencil. Maybe there is a trick and I can't figure it out without instructions.
