My VW diesel with 350,000 miles on it has a tremendous amount of blowby that chokes the intake and the intercooler with oil carryover. Rislone doesn't completely stop the blowby, but it creates enough of a seal at the rings to reduce the blowby to a manageable level. I wouldn't recommend it for most cars, but for extreme cases where the expense of a rebuild isn't justified and you're just trying to get a little extra life out of an engine, it does the job in a cost-effective manner.
