I put it in an enclosure for three little female rats. At first they slept upstairs, but eventually they found that the inside space was much better for sleeping. While I personally can't speak to her warmth, the girls (Stormy and Snowball in the second photo; Charlotte was a diva) think she does the job pretty well. They quickly ditched their box in favor of this one. Have revised my rating from four to two stars - two very thin fabric loops for metal clips (1st photo) are now torn in half. To be honest I bought a higher quality item from my local pet store with much stronger attachment points and plastic hardware for a lower price. Now it's just a backup.
