Getting into this thing was a daunting task. I couldn't figure out why the audio wasn't playing, but I eventually found that it worked fine by playing around with the audio settings. The video quality is ok, the sound is ok too. Definitely good for creating digital files from VHS tapes that I can keep. Happy with the price and purchase. This could have been a 5 star product if the instructions were up to date and the software design clearer. A video showing how it works would be a good way to do it without spending money updating all the software. The Mac instructions were severely outdated and I had to make some adjustments immediately to stop the horrible screeching when the audio wasn't working. That noise, if unprepared, was awful. It will not work like a normal program. It's installed, then click to open it. It does nothing and may give you a warning. YOU MUST have a VCR and device already connected and playing for anything to show up. Then you can start recording. You can rewind and start over, but the device must be receiving a channel for the correct window to appear. I'll try to upload a video when I sit down and start building my entire collection and it gets a little better.
