A good stone for sharpening beard knives

This is a good fine grit waterstone for sharpening concave blades. I use it to sharpen bird beaks and it works well for that. I wish there was some kind of surface prep stone for this. The stone will inevitably become uneven as it wears and there is no way to fix this.
