I bought this because it can be mounted on something as thin as a screen. The guy who built our katio wanted to fit it into a piece of plexiglass, so it was perfect. We can close the window when not in use or in bad weather, although the Catio is supposed to be suitable for outdoor use - there simply wasn't enough time for a good test. The valve is a bit stiff, but that goes away over time. Our installer said it was easy to install and looked good - we'll just see how many times the cats try to get through the plexiglass until they realize there's a door! Cats haven't had a chance to use it yet, so I can give an update in a few weeks.
