This is a great gadget and a great gift. This is one of those gift options that you might want to turn down at first. But everyone I gave it to commented how much they liked it. I have had these for several years, they last a considerable amount of time, the wine uncorks successfully every time (the corks don't crumble or break) and are discarded with no problem. No force is required to operate the device other than holding the bottle so that it does not rotate.
