I used a roller to cover both the melmer and vertical file and got great results. I would suggest that if using on the front of a drawer you tape the edges with thin tape e.g. B. packing tape, secure. This eliminates friction when opening and closing the drawers so the edges don't pull up. I also used this method to secure the edges within the vertical file to keep items from snagging on the slide when removed from the file. It's thicker than regular contact paper, so these edges can snag in this type of application. Works really well and is holding up well. The color corresponds to the traditional mahogany finish, dark reddish brown. I have a combination of mahogany and dark cherry wood furniture in my room and it goes well together.
