I needed a unit with more than two outlets that should be on the wall next to the obstruction to the left of it. I've found very few vertical adapters that fit the main outlet. Everyone else went horizontally and evenly in all directions. The feature that caught my attention was the adjustable end cap, which rotated and allowed it to move vertically or horizontally against an obstacle on the left. I didn't need a surge protector, but given the price and quality of this device I couldn't help but try it! it held firmly in place, not too heavy for a secure connection. To my delight, I now have plenty of outlets in my laundry room AND I can charge my devices, keeping unsightly cords out of my living areas!* **Note***For more details, the plug is only adjustable to 45*. Therefore, it can go left in a properly installed (right side up) outlet due to the location of the ground pin. If your socket is installed upside down (like mine) it will only move to the right, which luckily I did! That's just because I assumed it would rotate in either direction. my fault. It's not like this. Overall: I'm glad it suits my needs perfectly, PLUS the features I haven't used but luckily can use now!
