Can't beat the price

I just got this camera yesterday so didn't have much time to play with it. Nonetheless; I took some test shots and played around with the buttons, so here are my first impressions. Warning: I am not a professional photographer. In fact, I bought this camera because I wanted to replace an old 5MP Canon PowerShot camera that technically worked fine, but due to the lack of any kind of image stabilization, my photos kept getting blurry. I wouldn't bother with a new one unless the reviews here are decent and the price is super cheap for a 16MP from a trusted company. Pros: -- Image quality is pretty darn good in my unprofessional opinion. Colors are realistic yet vibrant, and the automatic settings work well in relatively dimly lit rooms. The image stabilization is TOP. According to my notes above, this was an important feature for me; My hands are shaking a little, without image stabilization I can't take a picture without blur. I managed to get about 20 shots in this shot, most of them didn't even bother to hold the camera particularly still and they came out sharp. Touchscreen: This wasn't a factor in my choice, so I was surprised that I immediately started using the touchscreen more than the buttons - it was responsive and for the most part the icons are large enough for easy thumb selection. Cons: Case and charger feel cheap. My previous camera, almost 10 years old, has an all-metal body that feels solid and of good quality; Of course it was a $400 camera back then and I bought these for $95 after tax so I didn't expect them to be of the same quality. It was a little surprising to see the shiny, beautiful front and then pick it up to find the back was ugly brown plastic. Overall, I think given the features you get and the current retail price, you'd be hard pressed to find a better deal. So far this seems like a great camera for the average user who wants to take good pictures. Especially if, like me, you only take photos once or twice a year and donโ€™t want to invest a lot of money in a camera at all.
