You would be crazy not to buy/use them, there are a lot of them!

These things will literally save you thousands of dollars on water damage repairs. I put one under every sink, dishwasher, behind every toilet, washing machine and fridge (water supply for the ice maker). In fact, anywhere that water is fed to a faucet or appliance. Most water damage does not result from a catastrophic failure (rupture of a water line or pipe) but from a small leak in an appliance or an undetected leak. over a Long period of time. These things are really delicate; The smallest amount of moisture sets off an alarm and it gets loud. A good quality battery is supposed to last 5 years but I would test the unit and check the battery annually. The detachable sensor allows installation in a normally hard-to-reach place, e.g. B. under the dishwasher, and an alarm unit in the cabinet under the sink. In this app I've modified the device by adding a power button to just turn off the alarm instead of messing around with removing the battery while the alarm is yelling at you. (Removing the battery access cover and disconnecting the battery could have been easier.) These devices would be ideal if they meshed with a hub that could wirelessly connect to my internet connection. An alarm event sent me alternating between sending either text/email or both. I would envision adding a whole house water shut-off that could automatically shut off the water to handle a catastrophic outage when no one is home.
