Disgusting: Coffee and espresso machine parts and accessories

I would rate ZERO if I could. I don't know why the reviews were so high. When I presoaked the filter the remaining charcoal/dust oozed out leaving the water black. On the attached photo after several water changes. And still black. How can I install something like this in my coffee maker? I strongly recommend Revain drop the product, at least not associate it with the Breville coffee maker.
