I use it as an access point. Works great on both ranges. For the average user, this is a great choice. If you want to connect wirelessly 4K TV, game consoles, or (especially) use a network drive, then I advise you to take a closer look at the older RE350 model. It will also work better as an access point thanks to the gigabit port, and the antennas are more powerful, which means you can put them at a greater distance from the Wi-Fi source in repeater mode. My TV and consoles are connected by wire via a gigabit switch, so this model is more than fine with me, although marketers are frustrated with their stupid limitations.
