Review on πŸ”‘ Land Rover LR3 Discovery Range Rover Sport Key Fob Case Shell – Flip Keyless Entry Remote Cover Replacement Key Casing by J-ACCES by Joseph Marshall

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good choice if you know what to do.

This case is a pretty solid replacement but there are a few things I'd like to know before I start: Metal.- The original key fob is sealed and will need to be opened. Take your time and keep the pieces together, although you won't need most of them. But it will be a good guide - The shaft and some of the key elements are slightly different in size - Move the internals into the new case. This part is easy. You need to take out the blank key blade. There is a pin that needs to be knocked out that will hold it in place. Don't lose this pen, you will need it later. Remove the key blade in the same way as the old installation. If it's like mine you'll need to file the end that fits in the holder. To fully insert the pen, all you have to do is twist it a little. You must turn the key around the nib to "load" it. Then press everything together. Make sure everything is in order before inserting the screw. I have to get by without it. If I had known all this beforehand, it would have taken 10 minutes. Works great when assembled. Definitely, but again if necessary. (NOTE: some say that you should change the battery at the same time, but once you switch to this shell you can easily go back and do it later so you don't have to worry too much.)

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • Dull packaging
