Mom likes this. She didn't want to use a tissue because she thought disposal rags were a waste of time so I bought her these. She says they pick up MORE dirt than the Swiffer brand version and wash well. My only suggestion is that you should test them to make sure there is nothing disgusting about them before using them. If you pick up a needle or needle, a small piece of rock, a large splinter, or the like, it may not come out of the wash. You will then scratch the floor when using the pads. I only mention this because one of them had a sewing needle stuck in it and I may have overlooked and scratched my new hardwood floor. A quick glance or a gentle hand movement over the pillow should be more than enough.
