, I have a 5m Alitove RGB strip that my wife appropriated for our recent Christmas party to light up the outdoor bar. This isn't the best option for this task as the strip is flat and doesn't turn corners well. I bought one of these to test and will be buying more. lots of variations - and our guests thought they were really cool and funky, so that's always a plus. While testing a new filament in my lab, I noticed that the 5 volt filament peaked at 2.77 amps when all the LEDs were set to white and full brightness. As mentioned, you need at least 3 amps per filament to power them. My lab output is variable, so I should see the strands stay bright enough up to about 3 volts and either the LEDs or my controller will stop switching LEDs. about 2.33 volts. Current draw with all LEDs set to white and full brightness at 3.3 volts was 900 milliamps. At 5 volts I found the lights to be almost uncomfortably bright, but it was within 3 feet of them. Bright enough for my taste. The power cord is metric, I believe, somewhere between 24 and 26 AWG. At least that's how it sits in my small strippers. While some complain about this, particularly when more than one strand is to be run, the cost of a smaller harness with good flexibility is what it is. my red and green channels are swapped. Not a big deal for my application but I can't combine it with other strips and panels.
