Review on πŸ”§ Performance Tool W38802 Socket Set - 12 Piece by Daniel Warren

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A good investment in a tool box.

Looks well made. They sit snugly on the screw heads and are not difficult to remove again, as is the case with some Torx screws. Lifetime Guarantee. The vast majority of my tools come with a "lifetime warranty". I have no reason to believe that I need to call on this guarantee. The only time I've tried to fix this was with a Husky socket wrench. Husky did not honor the warranty. They seem to interpret it as "abuse and abuse" to put a socket on their socket and turn something with it. thanks husky All your tools ended up on my scrap heap. Anyway, back to the point. As I said, I have no reason to believe that these sockets will fail. Each has a good length of the star pattern. If I ever pull it off I might sharpen the end a bit to restore it. You could probably do this three or four times before they get too short. In fact, if I ever have to, it means I didn't use them properly. Now a little about the bad. A trifle, but it is. The tip of the T-47 was not fully polished and the corner was ground to the tips of the star. That doesn't make it useless by any means, but it's unprofessional. One star deducted, although I almost didn't put it. Another thing that bothered me was that it's not that obvious how to get them out of the mount. You will need to cut each of these two small tabs and then twist to remove the bushing from the bracket. Some of them can be pretty hard to roll, especially when I'm under my truck. I'm seriously considering getting another holder. These two things together made me choose four stars instead of five. However, this decision was reluctant.

Pros
  • 1 star bit 1/2" socket: T-60
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
