Can survive a pissed off, hungry 16 lb cat

My cat gave me a real look the first time I put food in it. "What do you think I should do with that?!" Then I got a pathetic "meow" from hunger and a pathetic lift of a paw. It is obvious that these (well soft) ribs become visible, demonstrating the hunger I am subjecting the 'neglected' cat to. Ha. After a day or so he gave up and is now happily scooping out a few pieces at a time. hehe. And the clatter of dry pieces has a calming effect in the background. The base is broad and stable, once withstood a tantrum. I think the kitty is fed up with a bite or two at a time and a BROKEN food tree (and this is a very hardy, large 16 lb cat). Didn't get many more plays in his time and he hasn't done it again. doesn't fall either. As long as it stays clean. Sure I'll have to wipe the floor now and then, but not that far. Also, Freddie has a great tendency to sometimes eat his kibble too quickly and then throw it away after about 5 minutes. . oh joy He may not have total freedom of choice because he is older (15 years old) and has a sedentary lifestyle which makes him a bit hungry between feedings. So swallowing food (again since he's clearly about to wither!) and vomiting. So I had to give him a few bites, let him eat and after 15 minutes give him the rest. Well, that slows him down enough that almost no vomiting occurs. Hooray! It was an unintended effect, but I really appreciate it. I originally got this because my neighbor (I occasionally feed his cat) has one and I wanted to add a little movement and complexity to the eating process. Overall it takes up more space but I'm glad I bought it and I would buy another one.
