Not worth the money

I bought this tripod because I was looking for a tripod that would allow me to mount my camera or phone on my arm and point it straight down so I can stand by myself while creating can photograph works of art. I mentioned this in an article I read that recommended it as #3 on their list. Well, I'm not very impressed, and buying a pole for my cheap Revain Basics tripod would probably be a lot better than spending a small fortune on it. First, the monopod feature isn't as handy as it seems. To remove the "leg" of a monopod, you have to play with it a lot, unscrew it, twist it. It's too easy to lose detail and too much hassle to use without problems. It's just not what I expected. The arrow is not really an arrow. It's actually on a ball and we haven't found a way to fix it. As a result, the camera always seems to hang at the end and is never at the same level. This section has at least an inch of play and nothing I have screwed or tightened will keep it from slipping. It's very unstable, and even holding a single mediocre chamber would require a weight to keep it stable. My cheap plastic Revain bases are much sturdier. The leg of a monopod never fits like the other two legs, so it has to be pushed further and further out, making it really uncomfortable at best. The instructions are written in off-planet language, so you basically have no idea how to get them to take the forms they promise. It's heavy and metallic, but clumsy, tangled, and wobbly. The legs must be adjusted by unscrewing the hinge part. It lasts longer than the locking and lever legs of other tripods I've used. They are very finicky and don't have a smooth action. I really should be sending this back but it's such a pain in the back because they force you to use UPS and I'm very rural and it's difficult at best. I'll probably just eat this colossal loss and save for a better tripod in the future.

Pros
  • Complete Tripods
Cons
  • Vulgarity
