The fabric is not 'canvas' as described, but more of a thin oxford material. The 48 inch diameter is empty and stretched, so not a real 48 inch diameter. That would be fine with me, except when I put beans in a beanbag and sit on it, the fabric rips along the seam and the beans spill all over the place. I would think that for something that is really a "bean bag chair" it would be strong enough to sit on and not rip. I'm sending it back for a refund after removing the stuffing.
