I bought a 33" insert to fit my existing wood-burning fireplace. some slits on the edges that gave it an unattractive look. I bought a frame kit for the device and it completely changed the look. At the stone fireplace, I was able to route the power cord forward through a gap in the wall. stone and hide it with your existing fireplace tools. Since the liner was placed on top of the chimney base I had to build an liner platform to raise it about 2 1/4" to allow the base of the frameset to fit. Now the unit looks really good and better than that with the smoke and the tedious job of making firewood. The heater worked great too. I used to have a duraflame log insert which was good but the stove didn't really heat the room so I actually had to turn the heat setting off because the room was getting too hot. My only complaint about the insert is the glass, I wish they had used non-reflective glass, during the day with my picture window in the room it is difficult to see the flames due to light reflection, also at night when the table lamps are on there are some Reflections It ruins the natural look when you see the reflection of the room in the fireplace Our room looks best when the lights are off mt we really like the device, it gives the fireplace a nice look and it is much easier to start a flame than with wood.
