When there is no video input on the monitor, the screen saver switches to alternating full-screen color blocks with maximum brightness. Also, the hotkey for onscreen and audio controls often jumps to a weird color settings/configuration screen instead of onscreen controls. This means I can't dim the screen as usual in a dark room. Other than that, it's a great display for general work and video watching. [EDIT] Also a great display for photo editing. [EDIT] I found that if I set the monitor to HDR OFF the on screen controls can be used. In order for the screen controls to work, I had to connect them to my laptop via an HDMI cable. The side button then brings up user-friendly on-screen controls. I still don't understand why you can't control screen brightness in HDR ON mode and why sometimes HDR ON mode turns on. IDEA: Place some touch controls on the edge below the active screen area. Also a built-in version of this screen with ports embedded on the side.
