I'm very happy, it really is worth buying.

I wanted to write a review about this lens. To begin with, it is interesting primarily because it is made for full-frame cameras, I would recommend the Nikkor 35mm F1,8 G lens to all owners of DX cameras - it is simply magnificent, and it is worth paying a little more for it. In the full frame lens niche, the YongNuo AF 35mm f/2 is unparalleled. Its closest competitor Nikon 35mm f2 D, despite the fact that the lens is ancient and has an AF screwdriver drive, still costs three times more, and F1,8G is generally six times more expensive. And that's what I was looking at for myself. 35mm is such a must have format for FX camera owners. But I do not do photography commercially, and therefore I decided to save the family budget and consider the "Chinese". There are quite a lot of reviews on the network, both objective and not very. I liked the examples of photos he took. I bought it in 2022, just with the expectation that it will be possible to return it within 14 days if it does not suit me. I shoot them on Nikon D800. Started with a static test. on F2 there is a frequent back focus, and very mediocre sharpness, but already from F2.8 and to F4 a very good result in sharpness and without AF misses, it perfectly resolves 36.6 megapixels. camera matrices, bokeh is pleasant. Noticeable distortion already begins from aperture F7, sharpness begins to disappear. at closed aperture values it is bad and takes a long time to point. in the backlight it does not catch hares, but a strange overexposed vignette appears along the edges of the frame, a kind of vignette on the contrary, In dynamic scenes, AF does not slow down and holds the subject well. When shooting video, it also did not lag behind Nikon lenses. Bottom line: I decided to leave, I liked the lens. For its hundred dollars, this is quite good glass. Compact and lightweight. Shooting with him is easy, the main thing is to know his weaknesses and get by with working values. The miracle didn't happen. YongNuo's price-quality ratio is probably the company's slogan.

Pros
  • First of all, and the main advantage of this lens is the price.
Cons
  • There are nuances that need to be considered when working with it.
