Review on πŸ“Ί BASON LIGHTING TV Backlight: 8.2ft RGB 4096 DIY Colors LED Strip for 32-58 inch TV/Monitor with Remote Control - Ideal Gaming Lights & Ambient Lighting Kit! by Brandon Guidroz

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great system, looks and versatility. Good choice. Important installation update from BASON!

I am really very satisfied with this product. If not for a few variances, I would have had no hesitation in giving 5 stars. First the PROS: The system was fairly simple and easily applied to my flat screen (40" Samsung) which took about 30 minutes less if it weren't for the deviations above which I cover in the "Cons". The LED strip for the power/remote sensor plugs conveniently into the TV's USB port. Make sure you start with this strip to place the remote sensor correctly (I chose line of sight to show the connection to ensure remote control).Connecting LED strips to align the marked connector pins (red, blue, green, ground) exactly to the end, otherwise the finished array will not light up The lighting effect is bright and clear, with different color options (16), brightness adjustment (9 levels) and display mode (four). All in all an extraordinary presentation of light effects with a practical universal remote control. two 30" two 18" incl. St rom/remote bar and three trip connectors (all male ends). This is where CON comes into play. All LED strips must have female connectors on both ends. My kit had a power strip with pins on the other end, which meant I couldn't use the power strip to connect to the next LED strip. I connected the bar directly to the 30 inch bar which had a double socket. A connector was used to connect the next 18" strip. For some reason, the 18" strip also had a connector on the distal end, so I had to connect it directly to the last 30" LED strip again, huh required some twisting and repositioning. I can only assume I got mismatched strips in the packaging process. The result wasn't very pleasing aesthetically but the system worked flawlessly so it's good that it ends this way. 1 star deduction here for my inconvenience. Conclusion: A great and fun lighting system that I would recommend and buy again. Update: I received a comment from Bason regarding an issue with male and female ends on LED strips. It was in somewhat broken English, however I will do my best: the strips appear to come with both male and female ends so they fit on the shipping spool it is packaged on are, can be spliced. The four pins on the distal end of the strip can be pulled out to provide a female connection on either end, allowing the use of male/male connection strips. It would be useful to have this information in the user manual, for example. Bason said customers were giving 1- or 2-star ratings because of this issue and planned to update the instructions on the omission. Good idea! I hope this is useful information.
