I have a pair of 4-5 foot nylon bungee cords (K9 Tactical) with real frog clips that i really like. I needed a third leash, no bungee and a little longer for training. Since it was about 1/3 the price of others and it wasn't my everyday leash I decided to give it a try. First, this is NOT a frog clip. It is a fake. Functionally it's the same but made from a much thinner, lighter and cheaper material. Although it works fine. Not sure how it will hold up when you hit it with mud and the like. If you're unfamiliar with frog clips, most of the time they're designed to be easy on and off, but they work best if you have a collar with a larger metal loop. Pulling back both tabs opens the frog clip. When you press the collar's large metal loop, it automatically closes and attaches to the collar. If you don't have this large loop, the automatic locking mechanism will not activate and you will have to push the tabs on the frog clip forward to close it. When you let go of the pup, pull both tongues back and the dog is free. Easy especially if you have limited finger/hand skills like wearing gloves. In order for the dog to accidentally let go of the brush or whatever, he needs to hook these two tabs (on either side of the clip) when the dog pulls his head back. Possible, but highly unlikely. The leash itself is stiffer than most leashes and is made of rubber. Well suited for my purposes, easy to clean. Only time will tell how it turns out. This will also be different for each puppy and if you let them chew on it. My comment on the size is that I tried to order 6 inches but somehow on the same page ordered 3 feet. It's my fault as the confirmation shows 3', I just don't know how it happened. I got it 2 times. (Hold 3ft and I use it at the front door to teach my pup to sit when someone comes to the door).
