Review on Mount Projector Universal Projectors MI 604 by Mike Larkin

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Wall mounting: Much more difficult than ceiling mounting. Think twice if possible.

Item:1. Wall mounts are not as easy to find as ceiling mounts. At least it's a real wall mount. Cons: 1. This mount was very tedious to assemble and required a number of "tweaks" to get it right. 2. The cable routing hole is not large enough for most power cords, making it almost useless. Of course it holds HDMI, but what's the point if the power cord is hanging outside? 3. The screws used to attach the bracket to the wall are of an unusual shape and size, making installation difficult. Also, he just doesn't feel safe against the wall. I'm worried that I'll come home and find my projector on the floor.4. IMPORTANT - There are two screws on the part that attaches the mounting bracket to the bracket. These are not user installed screws. However! You are very important. I put everything together and couldn't figure out why my projector was tilted. I put on everything I collected, but to no avail. Eventually I found that the two screws were loose which was causing the wobbling. I had to disassemble quite a bit of the fasteners to get to them and tighten them. Then it's time to get together! It was a huge pain. All in all - mounting the projectors with ceiling mounts was easy and I think one of the biggest problems with wall mounts is simply gravity. With a ceiling mount, gravity pulls it straight down. It "levels itself out". With a wall mount, however, the downward force is applied differently. This makes it much more difficult to stabilize the projector. This makes installation considerably more difficult. It's not the mount's fault, but they could have addressed some of those design issues and minimized the issues.

Pros

Cons
