Used in a motorhome (30ft trailer) to dim LED lights mounted on an awning track. It was installed next to the existing power switch for the LED lights and mounted in a cabinet next to the panel. First let me say that this switch was so good that I bought it twice. I used it to dim the outdoor LED lights on my canopy rail and when it worked so well I bought a second one to install for the skylights in my RV. We were able to install this switch with the easy installation method by connecting the red and white wires together. After using a multimeter I found that the LED lights in the canopy draw 1.5A and the interior lights draw 2A. I bought this switch because it was rated for twice the current. Installation was easy, or as easy as the wiring. The included wire nuts were perfect for connecting this switch to my existing wiring. I added a length of heavy duty lamp cord so I could place the switch where I wanted it in the closet next to my existing lamp switch. In other words, the wiring on this switch is about 4 inches long. So if you want that dimmer to be more than a few inches away from the existing switch it will work with, you may need to splice additional wires to give you the distance required to move that dimmer. If you connect it as the only switch, you will not need any other wiring than what is included in the kit. I wanted to keep the original on/off switch and make it work in conjunction with the dimmer, so I need to move the dimmer a bit further back where I had room to mount it. The switch is very small and the retaining ring that holds it in place worked great and was tight enough that the dimmer switch itself doesn't move when you turn the dimmer knob. installed with a dimmer, but the brain of that dimmer worked perfectly to provide a full spectrum of light from very low to full brightness. It's nice to be able to have a hard click "off" position, although I don't expect to use that feature as I still have the original on/off switch built in. Basically I would like to say that the installation of this dimmer makes my lights usable. The outdoor LEDs on the canopy were WAY too bright for a quiet night at the campsite without illuminating and disturbing the area next to me. Thanks to this switch we can have enough light to relax and still have plenty of light when we need it. As for the indoor LEDs, our RV's lights were so bright that it was difficult to watch TV indoors when they were on. If they were off, the TV would hurt our eyes. By installing this dimmer we can tune the internal LEDs to provide ambient lighting in any situation. I'm really excited about how this makes our lighting so much more comfortable and perfect for our next trip. ABSOLUTELY NO flickering with this switch. LEDs dim and maintain their brightness wherever they are placed without flickering, flickering, flickering or any other annoying nonsense, although I think flickering can be a nice effect sometimes. :) I bought this switch because the comments and reviews seemed to indicate that the company was very helpful, but I ended up not needing them. Buy it. Install it. Enjoy it. Ideal.
