Well, they creak. :) I somehow missed it. My son loves this! I'm not good at it, but I love that he loves it. We can't remove the creaking mechanism - they can choke, and I'm sure we'll lose them quickly. So all we had to do was buy replacement shoes for school - squeaking is not allowed in kindergarten and I have to say I understand that rule. My son loves them and that counts!
