I drive a 2008 Subaru Impreza 2.5i with an automatic transmission. This isn't a 310hp turbo sports model, it's a regular vanilla sedan with standard 4-wheel disc brakes. It's fine for the average driver, but I live high on a hill with a long, steep road with a 35mph speed limit (and there's usually a friendly officer on the road). Every day driving down this street I smell brakes. The other riders get hot and mine got so hot my rotors actually warped. I could feel the warped discs tremble when I hit the pedal and my mechanic said many other riders around me were having the same issue. I replaced my front brakes with Power Stop ceramic pads and Phillips discs because I knew they would dissipate heat and gases more efficiently. Doesn't matter! These brakes don't overheat as quickly as my stock brakes. Now I don't have to worry about braking on this steep slope. My car also stops more easily when it's wet. Installation was easy; Just follow the simple break-in instructions to properly install the pads. Driven more than 1000 km with it and completely satisfied. They also look very sporty. Please note that these are not $1500 Brembo racing brakes and are not intended for track use, but they will definitely outperform your car's stock brakes. When I first hit the road I sometimes notice a slight vibration and hum under hard braking, but that goes away as the ceramic pads warm up a bit.
