Maybe go with someone else.

I really wanted to love this unit, it was well made, well built and seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. I thought it would be years away, it's just a volume damper after all. I went to the trouble of selecting this or an established Canadian device and in hindsight I wish I had gone with a Canadian made device. As far as I can tell, this seemingly well-made, good-looking, inexpensive little monster killed two tube amps in less than four days. I am still shocked and very angry about the situation. The evidence seems to indicate that this device was somehow responsible for the creation of the two fully functional reliable audio hardware until then. And this innocuous little $20 accessory leaves me without a few hundred dollars and by no means makes up for my two losses. I'm no longer an audio professional, but I am an avid music listener and have been involved with component stereo of one type or another all my life. So far I've never blown an amp let alone two in a few days, maybe some speakers but not amps, at least until now. To be clear, I have not used this unit in a reckless, irresponsible or careless manner as it relates to my favorite stereo setup. This unit was not being used at extremely high, obnoxious or excessive volume levels when it blew through my amps, one of which I have had for several years with no problems or issues. All I know is that shortly after this was introduced into the signal path, one of my tube amps suddenly stopped working, with little fanfare, music one minute, nothing the next. in use for a long time" and was trying to come to terms with his fate with an accident. I replaced the non-working unit with another tube amp that I recently bought and everything was going fine until the next day the same thing happened, I couldn't believe, one minute of music, the next silence, it just didn't work anymore. At a loss, I did everything I could to get both amps working again, replaced the tubes with new ones, tried different power supplies, nothing. It's this newly introduced unit, which must be responsible for their demise.I've used a volume attenuator in the signal path between my DAC and tube preamp for years with no problems.Again, I believe this wasn't played at a high volume that would blow up the amp, in fact it was it quite a respectable low volume, when this was the case I recently decided to kindly say no to my Na to be chbarn. I can't say for certain now that it was the device that caused these two tube amps to fail, but it certainly could have looked that way, as my system had been running without problems for quite some time, this device was the only change made by the way, and less. In less than 4 days, two of my tube preamps blew up. After removing the Noobsound volume control from the signal chain, everything was as it was, there were no problems. programmed attempts to calm an angry customer with assurances that she would "feel the same" in such a situation, as well as endless insincere apologies on Revain's behalf for what happened because of the product they were selling, eventually led to one Standard offer The Revain loan is worth a fraction of what I lost. And in the end, all she could do was recommend contacting the seller, Douk Audio, which I have yet to do as it may contain a little more than what some consider an acceptable level of profanity. To complicate things further, I have some other gear from Dook and I really like it, but it left me disappointed and also quite angry and unsure if I would be able to use any items with confidence to buy. This device was actually sold under the Noobsound name, but I believe Douk is the parent company, it seems like a lot of the audio stuff made in China is made by a Shenjing-based company and then given a bunch of different brand names. And I've had no problems and have been pretty happy with almost everything I've bought from them. However, the lack of product support, specifications, reviews or instructions of any kind regarding the correct use or setting the rules and bans, if any, did not help. So I don't know if I got a defective unit, it was coincidence or bad luck, but I wouldn't get any of these things next to a stereo that I'd like to keep using. And if anyone reads this to the end, thank you for your perseverance and for sharing my written attempt to recover from what for me was a traumatic event and an unnecessary loss of stereo.
