Well here's the deal. They work AMAZING. BIG light reduction, great fit, great little body and as far as I can tell the image doesn't degrade at all. It allows longer shutter speeds for cinematic effects BUT GoPro does NOT offer stabilization at lower shutter speeds as stabilization (electronic or physical) works. Well it is, but you get a weird offset and an unwanted blurring effect. Below I will list the pros and cons. FOR 1. GREAT processing quality, right down to the cool protective housing2. Optically clear image with little or no degradation common to all Polar Pro products.3. Fits great with strong magnets, personally tested at 130+ mph on a naked bike, chin mounted on a Shoei rf-1200. mmm on the track of course.4. Ideal for long exposures during the day or a smoother time-lapse effect by slowing down the shutter speed in daylight for more motion blur and smoother time-lapse.5. Looks amazing with golden tint and nice hardware.6. When stabilized externally, with the right settings, they offer stunning cinematic looks. Now for the cons. Oh cons. I want you to know that some of these are on GoPro and don't reflect the quality of the filters, but they MUST be mentioned. CONS: 1. It is NOT compatible with media mod. Unfortunately, if you're looking for a cinematic effect but want to capture audio from the outside with a media mod, neither will do. You need to cut out the clip that wraps around the back and then glue the magnetic frame around the lens to use the media mod AND the filters. Easy to get to with a Dremel tool and some hot glue, but ruins the $80 filter set (holder only), can't be traded or sold when the time comes, and kind of ruins the Hero 8's front cover. I think the one is on Polar Pro, but they've probably done their best here. I don't see anything that would work with the media mod without the hero 7 screw lens which tended to fog up or the adapter mod as above.2. Stabilization doesn't work at shutter speeds of 1/48, which is required for a cinematic look at 24 fps. THIS IS ON A GOPRO but it has to be mentioned for functionality. It's an option, but it creates a weird shifting effect that ruins the footage. The chin is mounted on my helmet, it looks great WHEN my head is almost completely still which is impossible.3. The case is a bit bulky for such small items, but it's the best they can do to give them top-notch protection. But it can be quite big. Consider the style of a sunglass case, there is no need to store the case but it offers amazing protection.4. Kinda mentioned above and this is on a GoPro but you MUST have a gimbal or an external gimbal to use at those slow shutter speeds for any type of filming. It's included in the GoPro software, but for the intended purpose of these ND filters on an action camera, it's a bit of a shame. There are a lot of compromises, such as GoPro Hero 8. You just can't eat everything from an action cam this small, but they come SO close. When third parties come out with a gimbal adapter (since I don't pay for a dedicated gimbal I prefer to use my Osmo Mobile 3 for both my phone and GoPro) it eliminates some of the negative effects of the Hero 8's slower shutter speed and enable a cinematic look with good stabilization. HOWEVER I don't see this as an option if you need an external entry. Unless you hack it like I said above. Maybe I'll do that to use the media mod and mic, I'm just hesitant to cut down on the $80 filter set. Overall I think this is the best set that has come out so far. I'm a big fan of the Polar Pros and they don't disappoint in quality but the compromises you have to make can be a bit of a hassle.
