Does not buffer pH in fish and aquatic animals
Very disappointed as I heard a lot of good things about this company and decided to give it a try for the first time. I bought this to create a new aquarium for my Crystal Red Shrimp. I used to use an entire 5 pound bag for a 10 gallon tank and after a few weeks and almost a month the pH is now 6.8. Crystal red shrimp thrive at a pH of 6.1-6.5 and most buffer substrates such as river bed and Ada-Aquasoil do well at the lower end of this range. I'm not sure if I got a bad batch or not but I made a huge mistake buying them and now I need to restart this tank. Me and my shrimp are very sad.
