Review on Alpinestars Paragon Elbow πŸ”’ Guard: Ultimate Protection and Comfort by Onsommoshit Mathews

A handy sentinel, but one that doesn't linger to do its job.

Recently received these and Paragon Knee Pads. I ordered a large size based on both my measurements and the Alpinestars size chart. After receiving them and trying them on, they turned out to be too big. Granted, my measurements are on the small end of the large size range, but within the range listed. I sent them back and received the media. They seemed to fit pretty well. On my first ride with them I was unlucky enough to hit the ground twice but took advantage of learning about their performance. We had 10 inches of rain last week and although the trails are mostly dry there are still a few muddy corners and leaves have started to fall, some of them quite camouflaged. the ground was hard enough to knock the wind out of me. The knee pads worked great, staying in place and protecting my knees. The elbow pads are not very good. The guard slid up my arm and turned. Rash on elbow/forearm in normal spots I had before owning these pads.Second Fat Corner I grabbed a tree and hit my bicep (I wasn't expecting the guard to help with this) but the knee pads worked again when I fell on the ground. When I got home, I noticed that the cuff on the forearm of the elbow pads is very stretched, very loose on my arms. There's also no rubberized cuff at the end of the forearm (just the end of the biceps), which seems ridiculous as I fall forward with my arms most of the time, meaning you need a grippy guard on the front to keep it from falling Rides up your arm when you hit the ground. The knee and elbow pads are very comfortable, I almost forgot I was wearing them while riding. When I stopped riding I felt a little warm in it and the temperature was only about 70 degrees with a comfortable humidity. So maybe I need a small one to hold them in place? Or maybe a completely different, better designed safety cover to keep it in place in a crash.
