Impressed with the performance when connected to the Xbox Series X

For weeks I've been looking for something to use for my new Xbox Series X in my home office for superior sound that's more compact than the Logitech 5.1 is setup I used. Since the Series X dropped the optical output, I needed something that would work as an HDMI pass-through connector that would output both 4K video and decent audio. Dolby Atmos would be a plus but not a must. I bought an HDMI adapter with an optical output, but it just didn't work. We continued to experience video artifacts or just plain poor performance. I only had the soundbar set up for a few hours, but I tested the sound with a Mandalorian episode in 4k with Atmos. Wow, that was great! Dolby Atmos worked great and the display was as sharp as if I had the Xbox plugged in directly. I set up my Xbox One remote for volume control and the Xbox and soundbar turn on and off together with no issues. The sound is very clear. Music and dialogues are free of hissing or slushing noises. Then I played Die Hard 2 (already watched Die Hard :) ), 3D was perfect. Felt like a decent surround sound system. Logitech was better, but took up ten times the space of this little guy. Haven't tried any games yet, but I don't expect the performance to be any different. The reason I gave this 4 stars is because I had a temporary audio glitch which was resolved by turning it on and off. There was no repeat but if there is I will update. It's not the cheapest solution, but it's a very good one. If you are looking for something in a small space for your PC or Xbox/PlayStation, I heartily recommend it.

Pros
  • Works great for me
Cons
  • Requires socket
